Umami Kale Chips in the Air Fryer Drawer

The trick to making good Kale Chips in the Air Fryer is keeping them from flying up into the heating element. The method that I came up with is to place the roasting basket on top of the kale and the crisping plate on top of that. Using the Air Fryer is much better easier than oven roasting and takes less time. This recipe I wrote for the oven, which absolutely works if you don’t have an air fryer. In this air fryer version, I am using the Ninja Air Fryer.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Bunch Kale

2 TB Avocado Oil

2 TB Nutritional Yeast

1/1 tsp Salt

METHOD:

Tear kale into bit sizes chips and place in a bowl. Add the nutritional yeast and salt and massage into the kale well. Place the kale in your air fryer. Top with the roasting basket and place the crisping plate on top of that, as seen in the picture above. Air Fry on 350 for 20 minutes or until done. Every five minutes open, stir and pull out any that may be done. You will find some get done more quickly than the others. You will know they are done when they are no longer moist.
